Whitacre Water Works

Still operational as part of Severn Trent and is a water chlorination plant. 
Access to site not possible so original listed pumping engine house is not accessible.
Once these magnificent building housed what are regarded as some of the most extravagant decorated beam engines. The griffin and a few other decorative parts were retained when the engines were scrapped in 1950's.

Apologies for the rather poor quality of these historic photos.
You can find some interior images ​here. The writer is incorrect when he claims the building did not have beam engines but the images show how the interior does look at the moment.
