Whitacre Telephone Kiosks
Two GPO K6 traditional telephone boxes have been in the village and were both in use by BT until 2016. Now both decommissioned and both have been transformed into a defibrillator box being repainted and decorated to suit their new use.
Reddings Lane box
A quiet box a short way up Reddings Lane has now been converted in early spring 2017 to house a defibrillator unit, as this box is close to the busy road junction outside the Gate public house. Looks very smart in its new coat of paint and lettering inserted above the doors.
Station Road box
This box was empty in 2017 having been decommissioned in 2016. This box was in the past a lot busier than the Reddings lane one mainly due to its more central location to housing. Sited directly outside the now former Post Office it maintains its sentinel along with the postbox. By September 2018 it had been moved to a new site just outside the Church Hall and now contains a defibrillator thus starting a new life.
